Introduction
Path To Power had that freakish ability very few dogs can attest to. As the great trainer "Darren McDonald" stated "this dog is as fast as any I've put a lead on."
By the super sire Awesome Assassin out of the Group 1 winning bitch Star Witch, Path To Power was bred to race at the highest level. Star Witch started 29 times for 17 Wins, 6 Seconds and 3 Thirds and $89,644 in prizemoney. She won the 2002 Group 1 Hobart Thousand as the only bitch in the final. She was runner-up in the Group 1 Sapphire Crown at Sandown, Won the Ledgerwood Classic in near track record time and finished third in a Group 3 Interstage Challenge at Angle Park.
Good stud dogs come from good litters and that was another quality Path To Power has. His sister "Witch Magic" started 16 times for 11 Wins, 1 Second and was one of the only bitches in history to win the Ballarat Cup. Upon A Star went 29.67 at Sandown, 30.13 at The Meadows, 25.15 at Ballarat. Star Warlock was a Group Finalist also that won three races at Wentworth Park with 30.19 his PB, 25.47 at Maitland.
Path To Power had 26 starts for 12 Wins,3 Seconds and 4 Thirds. His PB at Sandown was 29.59 which was a phenomenal run from off the lure where he gave a super dog like Fenceline wind burn. He went 29.83 at The Meadows after trialling 29.72 the week before at his first 525m run of his preparation.
Path To Power's career was cut short from a serious shoulder injury which plagued his career that he suffered as a puppy, Darren Mc Donald tried every vet to even using the hyperbaric chamber for the first time to get him right but his day had come to retire to stud. Unfortunately on the race track, the best was never seen from Path To Power.
His first crop of youngsters are already winning in town and he's even had a Group finalist. The best is yet to come.....
